About Chris

I am thrilled to be part of the Family & Addiction Counseling ohana as the Psychology Intern and Transition Specialist. As a U.S. Army veteran, my passion for supporting others is rooted in real-world experience. This background directly inspired my focus on military resilience and my current passion for helping all patients navigate every stage of their recovery.

I specialize in assisting patients with challenges that can typically fall through the gaps of conventional care. Using effective case management techniques and brief mental health strategies, I provide critical 'wraparound support' for our patients, especially those transitioning from higher levels of care (like residential or hospital programs) to our outpatient services.

I am passionate about providing trauma-informed and culturally grounded care for individuals and families navigating addiction, dual diagnosis, and intergenerational adversity. I am especially drawn to healing rooted in cultural and family systems, and I work to ensure every patient feels supported and understood.

Currently, I am a doctoral student pursuing my goal of becoming a licensed clinical psychologist and provide services under the licensed supervision of Dr. Mavis Alaimalo, PsyD, CSAC.
